2-3. 천국의 가치를 아는 사람

천국을 황금으로 된 길이 펼쳐져 있고 온갖 보석으로 꾸며진 공간으로 묘사할 수도 있지만(계 21:11, 18~21), 천국이 좋은 이유는 선하신 하나님이 통치하시는 ‘하나님 나라’이기 때문입니다. 그래서 예수님도 하나님의 나라는 그분을 왕으로 모시며 살아가는 우리 마음속에 있다고 하셨습니다(눅 17:20~21). 각자 자신이 하나님 나라에 속한 사람이라고 생각하는지 나누어 보세요. 그리고 자신이 알고 있는 천국은 어떤 곳인지, 어떤 곳이길 바라는지도 자유롭게 이야기해 보세요. 하나님의 다스리심 가운데 사는 것이 복된 삶이라면, 이 땅에서 천국의 삶을 누리기 위해 무엇을 포기하고 무엇을 내려놓아야 할지도 나누어 보세요.

Heaven can be described as a place with streets of gold and decorated with all kinds of precious jewels
(Revelation 21:11, 18–21).
However, the reason heaven is truly good is not because of its beauty, but because it is the kingdom where the good and loving God reigns.

That is why Jesus said that the kingdom of God is among us—within our hearts—when we live with God as our King
(Luke 17:20–21).

Invite each person to share whether they believe they belong to God’s kingdom. Encourage them to talk freely about what kind of place they think heaven is, and what kind of place they hope it will be.

If living under God’s rule is truly a blessed life, discuss together what we might need to let go of or give up in this world in order to experience the life of heaven here and now.

“하나님의 영광이 있어 그 성의 빛이 지극히 귀한 보석 같고 벽옥과 수정같이 맑더라”(계 21:11).
11. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. (Rev. 21:11)

“그 성곽은 벽옥으로 쌓였고 그 성은 정금인데 맑은 유리 같더라 그 성의 성곽의 기초석은 각색 보석으로 꾸몄는데 첫째 기초석은 벽옥이요 둘째는 남보석이요 셋째는 옥수요 넷째는 녹보석이요 다섯째는 홍마노요 여섯째는 홍보석이요 일곱째는 황옥이요 여덟째는 녹옥이요 아홉째는 담황옥이요 열째는 비취옥이요 열한째는 청옥이요 열두째는 자수정이라 그 열두 문은 열두 진주니 각 문마다 한 개의 진주로 되어 있고 성의 길은 맑은 유리 같은 정금이더라”(계 21:18~21).
18. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.
19. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20. the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
21. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass. (Rev. 21:18-21)

“바리새인들이 하나님의 나라가 어느 때에 임하나이까 묻거늘 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 하나님의 나라는 볼 수 있게 임하는 것이 아니요 또 여기 있다 저기 있다고도 못하리니 하나님의 나라는 너희 안에 있느니라”(눅 17:20~21).
20. Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation,
21. nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)
