10 다윗이 하나님께 물었습니다. “제가 나가서 블레셋 사람들을 공격해도 되겠습니까? 저들을 제 손에 넘겨주시겠습니까?” 여호와께서 다윗에게 대답하셨습니다. “가라. 내가 저들을 네 손에 넘겨주겠다.”
11 그리하여 다윗과 그의 군사들은 바알브라심으로 올라가 그곳에서 블레셋 군사들을 쳐부수었습니다. 다윗이 말했습니다. “여호와께서 봇물을 터뜨려 물이 쏟아지듯이 내 손으로 내 원수들을 치셨다.” 그래서 그곳은 바알브라심이라고 불리게 됐습니다.

8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they went up in full force to search for him, but David heard about it and went out to meet them.
9 Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim;
10 so David inquired of God: “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?”
The LORD answered him, “Go, I will deliver them into your hands.”
11 So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, “As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand.” So that place was called Baal Perazim.

4. 본문 이해 (Understanding the Scripture)
하나님은 성전을 짓고 싶어 하는 다윗의 중심을 받으시고, 그에게 놀라운 약속을 주셨어요. 다윗에게서 시작될 왕조를 세우시고, 그의 자손의 나라를 영원히 견고하게 하시겠다고 약속하셨어요. 이 약속은 예수님을 통해 완성될 영원한 하나님 나라를 의미해요. 하나님은 약속하시고 이루시는 분이에요.
God received the heart of David, who wanted to build a temple, and gave him a wonderful promise. He promised to establish a dynasty starting from David and to establish the kingdom of his offspring forever. This promise signifies the eternal kingdom of God that will be fulfilled through Jesus. God is the one who promises and fulfills.
■ 인도자를 위한 본문 이해 (Understanding Scripture for the Leader)
역대상 17장은 다윗 언약에 대한 매우 중요한 말씀입니다. 다윗은 하나님의 궤를 모실 성전을 건축하고 싶어 했지만, 하나님은 다윗 대신 그의 아들을 통해 성전을 짓겠다고 말씀하셨습니다. 다윗의 마음을 기뻐하신 하나님은 오히려 다윗을 위해 그의 집(왕조)을 친히 세워 주시고, 그의 나라와 왕위를 영원히 견고하게 하겠다고 약속해 주셨습니다. 이 언약은 일차적으로 솔로몬을 통해 성취되지만, 궁극적으로는 다윗의 후손으로 오실 메시아, 즉 예수 그리스도를 통해 완성될 영원한 하나님 나라를 의미합니다. 하나님을 섬기려 했던 다윗에게 하나님은 크신 복으로 응답하셨습니다. 하나님은 다윗에게 주신 언약을 따라 그의 후손에게도 은혜를 이어 가셨습니다. 그러므로 우리가 하나님을 사랑하는 마음으로 드릴 때, 하나님은 우리의 헌신을 기쁘게 받으시고 은혜 가운데 응답해 주십니다.
1 Chronicles 17 is a very important passage regarding the Davidic Covenant. David wanted to build a temple to house the ark of God, but God said He would build the temple through his son instead of David. Pleased with David’s heart, God instead personally built a house (dynasty) for David and promised to establish his kingdom and throne forever. This covenant is primarily fulfilled through Solomon, but ultimately it signifies the eternal kingdom of God that will be completed through the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who will come as a descendant of David. To David, who sought to serve God, God responded with a great blessing. God continued His grace to David’s descendants according to the covenant given to him. Therefore, when we give with a heart that loves God, God joyfully receives our dedication and responds in grace.

This is about the promise God gave to David, who wanted to build a temple. First, point out that the person to build the temple was not David, but his son Solomon. David wanted to build a temple, but God did not permit it. Because he was a man who had shed much blood in war (1 Chronicles 22:8). However, God received David’s heart toward Him and instead gave him a wonderful promise. First, He said that the temple, God’s house, would be built not by David but by his son Solomon. God also said that He would be Solomon’s father, and Solomon would be God’s son. Furthermore, He promised that the dynasty beginning with David would be established ‘forever.’ This promise goes beyond the Davidic dynasty and is fully fulfilled through Jesus Christ, who came as the King of kings.
“여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되 너는 피를 심히 많이 흘렸고 크게 전쟁하였느니라 네가 내 앞에서 땅에 피를 많이 흘렸은즉 내 이름을 위하여 성전을 건축하지 못하리라”(대상 22:8).

Parents, if there was a promise from God that our family is holding onto in the Word, please share it with your children. And share what the family can do together to fulfill that promise. If there is no special promise given by God, you may each share one thing you hope will happen to our family in the future. Please share specifically, such as hopes regarding the family’s spiritual growth, character maturity, or blessings to be enjoyed in the future. However, please guide them so that the content is not human greed but something that pleases God. And use the shared contents as the family’s vision prayer topics and pray together.
6. 감사하기 (Gratitude)
하나님께 감사드리고 싶은 일을 세 가지 정도 기록하게 한 후에 함께 나눕니다. 일상에서 경험한 크고 작은 감사나 예배 중에 생각난 감사를 나누어도 되고, 평범한 일상을 누리게 하시는 은혜에 대한 감사를 나누어도 됩니다. 감사를 나눔으로 하나님 은혜를 기억하고 하나님 중심의 삶을 훈련하게 됩니다.
Write down about three things you want to thank God for and share them together. You can share big and small thanks experienced in daily life, thanks that came to mind during worship, or thanks for the grace of enjoying an ordinary daily life. By sharing gratitude, we remember God’s grace and practice living a God-centered life.
7. 기도 (Prayer)
하나님, 저희의 헌신보다 하나님의 복과 은혜가 언제나 더 크고 놀랍습니다. 저희에게 영원토록 복 주기를 원하시는 하나님을 어떤 대상보다 사랑하길 원합니다. 하나님의 모든 말씀에 순종하도록 힘쓰는 저희가 되게 해 주세요.
God, Your blessing and grace are always greater and more amazing than our dedication. We want to love God, who desires to bless us forever, more than anything else. Please help us strive to obey every word of God.

8. 가족 미션 (Family Mission)
<약속 열매 나무 만들기>
* 준비물: 도화지 1장, 색종이 또는 포스트잇, 사인펜 또는 색연필, 가위, 풀
1. 도화지에 큰 나무를 그립니다. 나무줄기 위에는 크게 이렇게 적어 주세요. “약속 열매 나무”
2. 열매 만들기: 색종이를 동그랗거나 열매 모양으로 여러 개 오립니다.
3. 열매마다 하나님께 바라는 기도 제목이나 말씀 가운데 붙들고 싶은 약속을 기록해 봅니다. 미취학 아동은 글 대신 그림으로 표현해도 좋습니다.
4. 내용을 적은 열매를 나무에 하나씩 붙이며 함께 읽습니다.
5. 한 사람이 “하나님, 우리 가정의 미래를 인도해 주세요.”라고 짧게 기도하면, 다함께 “예수님 이름으로 기도합니다.” 하고 마무리합니다.
우리의 소원이 곧 하나님 약속은 아닙니다. 그러나 우리가 욕심으로 구하지 않고, 겸손히 말씀을 따라 기도하며 순종할 때 하나님은 선하신 뜻을 이루시는 분입니다. 이 활동을 통해서 하나님은 말씀하시는 분이시고, 그 말씀을 지키시는 분이라는 것을 기억하게 해 주십시오. 그리고 우리 가족도 하나님 말씀을 믿고 의지해야 함을 다짐하도록 독려해 주십시오.
<Creating a Promise Fruit Tree>
* Materials: 1 sheet of drawing paper, colored paper or sticky notes, markers or colored pencils, scissors, glue
1. Draw a large tree on the drawing paper. Write this largely above the tree trunk. “Promise Fruit Tree”
2. Making Fruits: Cut out several pieces of colored paper in a round or fruit shape.
3. On each fruit, write down a prayer topic you hope from God or a promise you want to hold onto from the Word. Preschoolers may express it with drawings instead of words.
4. Attach the fruits with the contents written on them to the tree one by one and read them together.
5. When one person prays briefly, “God, please guide our family’s future,” everyone concludes together by saying, “In Jesus’ name we pray.”
Our desires are not necessarily God’s promises. However, when we do not ask out of greed, but humbly pray according to the Word and obey, God is the one who fulfills His good will. Through this activity, please help them remember that God is the one who speaks and keeps His word. And encourage our family to resolve that we must also believe and rely on God’s word.
