4. 본문 이해 (Understanding the Scripture)
하나님은 택하신 백성에게 복 주기를 원하세요. 그래서 이스라엘 백성을 위해 축복하는 기도를 제사장 아론과 그의 후손에게 알려 주셨어요. 그 기도에는 ‘복 주심, 보호하심, 은혜 베푸심, 평강 주심’에 대한 내용이 들어 있어요. 제사장은 모임을 마칠 때마다 이 기도로 백성을 축복했을 거예요.
God desires to bless His chosen people, so He gave the priest Aaron and his descendants a special prayer of blessing for the people of Israel. This prayer includes God’s promises to bless, protect, show grace, and give peace. The priest would use this prayer to bless the people at the end of each gathering.
■ 인도자를 위한 본문 이해 (Understanding Scripture for the Leader)
시내 광야에서 이스라엘 백성은 하나님 말씀대로 전열을 정비하고 광야를 행진할 준비를 했어요. 광야 길에서 무엇보다 필요한 것은 하나님의 복이에요. 하나님은 아론과 그의 아들들에게 백성을 위한 축복 기도문을 알려 주셨어요. 제사장의 축복 기도는 문장마다 ‘여호와는…’으로 시작해요. 이는 복을 주시는 분이 하나님이심을 강조해요. 하나님은 복의 근원이세요. 반면 우상은 복을 줄 수 없는 가짜 신이에요. 내용을 살펴보면 첫째, 하나님이 복을 주신다는 선포는 하나님이 어떤 분인지 알게 하고 또한 이스라엘 백성의 정체성을 깨닫게 했을 거예요. 둘째, 하나님이 얼굴을 비추실 때 은혜가 임한다는 것은 하나님의 은혜로만 충만한 삶(말 4:2)을 살 수 있음을 의미해요. 셋째, 하나님이 그 ‘얼굴을 네게로 향하여 드사’라는 말의 의미는 복을 주시는 하나님이 온전히 나를 주목하시고 나의 필요를 아시고 채워 주심을 의미해요.
In the wilderness of Sinai, the Israelites prepared to march, relying on God’s blessing above all.
God gave Aaron and his sons a special prayer to bless the people, beginning each line with “The Lord…” to emphasize that He alone is the source of all blessings—unlike false idols.
The blessing reminded the Israelites that God blesses His people, helping them understand who He is and who they are as His chosen people. It also showed that when God’s face shines on them, His grace fills their lives abundantly (Malachi 4:2). Finally, when God turns His face toward them, it means He gives them His full attention, knows their needs, and faithfully provides for them.
The priestly blessing assured the Israelites that God alone was their protector, provider, and source of peace.
“내 이름을 경외하는 너희에게는 공의로운 해가 떠올라서 치료하는 광선을 비추리니 너희가 나가서 외양간에서 나온 송아지같이 뛰리라”(말 4:2).
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. (Malachi 4:2, NIV)

God gave the priest Aaron and his descendants the task of blessing the people of Israel. The prayer He gave them highlights that God alone is the true source of all blessings.
God dwells among His people, receives their worship, and pours out His blessings. He is a personal and caring God who not only blesses, but also sees each person individually and provides for their needs.
Take time to read the priestly blessing aloud, again and again, and reflect on how deeply God desires to bless His people.

Blessing others is a privilege given by God. Speaking a blessing is an act of faith—declaring, “God will bless [name].”
When you pray for someone’s well-being and peace, your own heart will be filled with joy, and the person you bless will be deeply encouraged. Parents can bless their children, and children can also bless their parents. Read the blessing prayer aloud often, and if possible, memorize it and share it from your heart.
God has called us, as believers in Jesus, to be royal priests (1 Peter 2:9). That means we have a special mission to bless others with the spiritual authority God has given us. Those who faithfully share and declare the blessings they’ve received will themselves be richly blessed by God.
“그러나 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유가 된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두운 데서 불러내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라”(벧전 2:9).
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9, NIV)
6. 감사하기 (Gratitude)
하나님이 나와 우리 가정에 베풀어 주신 복에 감사드리세요.
Give thanks to God for the many blessings He has poured out on you and your family.
7. 기도 (Prayer)
하나님, 저희에게 복 주길 원하시고 좋은 것으로 채워 주시니 감사합니다. 저희를 위한 하나님의 복과 은혜와 평강을 생각하니 힘이 납니다. 저희도 주변 사람들에게 그러한 복이 임하길 기도하고 선포하는 삶을 살게 해 주세요.
Thank You, God, for Your desire to bless us and fill our lives with good things. Thinking about Your blessings, grace, and peace gives us strength. Help us to live each day praying for and proclaiming those same blessings over the people around us.

<축복송 부르기>
*준비물: 보자기나 스카프(인원수만큼), ‘축복합니다’ 찬양
1. ‘축복합니다’ 찬양을 함께 들으며 배우는 시간을 가집니다.
2. 찬양에 익숙해지면, 보자기(혹은 스카프)를 한 손에 잡고 박자에 맞춰 흔들면서 불러 봅니다.
3. 가족 중 두 사람이 마주 보고 서서 보자기 귀퉁이를 각각 잡고 머리 위로 들어 터널을 만듭니다.
4. 다른 가족에게 터널을 통과하게 하고 축복송을 불러 줍니다.
5. 보자기를 바닥에 레드 카펫처럼 펼쳐 놓고, 그 위를 걷게 하며 축복송을 불러 줍니다.
6. 자녀의 머리에 보자기를 씌우고, 부모님이 자녀 머리에 손을 얹어 제사장의 축복 기도문으로 기도해 줍니다.
7. 역할을 바꿔서 이번에는 자녀가 부모님을 위해 축복 기도문으로 기도해 줍니다.
8. 양쪽 손으로 보자기를 잡고 원을 만들며 서로에게 축복송을 불러 주며 마무리합니다.

Blessing One Another
<Singing a Blessing Song>
Materials Needed: Bojagi (one per person), the praise song “축복합니다” (God Bless You)
Start by listening to and learning the blessing song together as a family.
Once everyone is familiar with the melody and lyrics, hold a bojagi in one hand and gently wave it to the rhythm as you sing.
Two family members face each other, each holding one end of a bojagi above their heads to form a tunnel.
Have another family member walk through the tunnel while the others sing the blessing over them.
Lay the bojagi flat on the ground like a red carpet. Let a family member walk across it while the others sing the blessing.
Gently place a bojagi over a child’s head. Parents lay their hands on the child’s head and pray using the priestly blessing (Numbers 6:24–26).
Switch roles—have the child place their hands on the parent and pray the blessing in return.
Everyone holds their bojagi in both hands, forming a circle. Sing the blessing song together as you bless one another.
Safety Tip:When using the bojagi as a red carpet, make sure both ends are held securely to prevent slipping.
Let this be a joyful time where your family experiences God’s blessings by freely giving and receiving love, encouragement, and prayer through shared acts of blessing.
