세상 모든 일은 하나님이 주관하세요. 그분이 허락하지 않으시면 참새 한 마리도 땅에 떨어지지 않아요. 그러니 우리에게 두려움을 주는 사람 앞에서 겁낼 것 없어요. 참새보다 귀중한 우리를 하나님이 지켜 주시니까요. 그분은 우리 머리카락도 세실 만큼 우리를 잘 아시고 지키시는 사랑의 하나님이에요.
God is sovereign over everything in the world. Not even a single sparrow falls to the ground without His permission. Therefore, we do not need to be afraid of people who try to intimidate us. God watches over us, who are far more precious than sparrows. He is a loving God who knows us so well that He even counts the hairs on our heads and faithfully protects us.
■ 인도자를 위한 본문 이해 (Understanding Scripture for the Leader)
13장은 ‘천국’(하나님 나라)을 설명하는 예수님의 비유들을 담고 있습니다. ‘씨 뿌리는 자의 비유’(3~8절)에서 ‘씨’는 ‘천국 말씀’(하나님 말씀)을 의미합니다. 즉 이 비유는 하나님 말씀이 사람들의 마음에 뿌려질 때, 각자 어떻게 반응하는지를 보여 줍니다. 예수님은 ‘씨 뿌리는 자의 비유’(3~8절)에 담긴 의미를 13장 18~23절에서 설명해 주십니다. ‘길가’는 말씀을 깨닫지 못하고 금방 잊어버리는 마음으로, 마귀가 와서 들은 말씀을 빼앗아 갑니다. ‘돌밭’은 뿌리가 없어 어려움이 생기면 금세 포기하는 마음이고, ‘가시떨기(덤불)’은 걱정과 욕심에 막혀 결국 열매 맺지 못하는 마음입니다. ‘좋은 땅’은 말씀을 듣고 삶으로 실천하는 마음입니다. 열매를 맺는 것은 오직 ‘좋은 땅’뿐입니다. 그러므로 우리는 하나님의 말씀을 기쁨으로 받아 세상의 유혹을 이기고, 날마다 인내하며 말씀대로 살아야 합니다. 그럴 때 하나님이 기뻐하시는 삶(열매)을 살 수 있습니다. 이 비유는 하나님의 말씀을 어떻게 받고 살아가야 하는지를 돌아보게 합니다.
Matthew 13 contains Jesus’ parables that explain the kingdom of heaven (the kingdom of God). In the Parable of the Sower (vv. 3–8), the “seed” represents the message of the kingdom, that is, the Word of God. This parable shows how people respond differently when God’s Word is sown in their hearts.
Jesus explains the meaning of the Parable of the Sower (vv. 3–8) in Matthew 13:18–23. The path represents a heart that does not understand the Word and quickly forgets it, allowing the devil to come and take away what was heard. The rocky ground represents a heart with no root, one that quickly gives up when difficulties arise. The thorny ground (thorns) represents a heart that is choked by worries and desires and therefore fails to bear fruit. The good soil represents a heart that hears the Word and puts it into practice. Only the good soil bears fruit.
Therefore, we must receive God’s Word with joy, overcome the temptations of the world, and live according to the Word with perseverance each day. When we do so, we can live a life that pleases God—a fruitful life. This parable invites us to reflect on how we receive God’s Word and how we live it out.

21. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
22. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

씨는 ‘말씀’, 땅은 ‘마음’을 비유한다는 것을 먼저 설명해 주세요. 말씀에 관심이 없고 말씀을 듣고도 쉽게 잊거나 무관심하다면 ‘길가’와 같은 마음이라고 할 수 있습니다. 말씀에 대해 마음은 열려 있지만 어려움이 닥칠 때 하나님을 불신하고 쉽게 믿음을 저버린다면 ‘돌밭’과 같은 마음이라고 할 수 있습니다. 말씀을 듣지만 걱정과 욕심이 늘 마음에 가득해 말씀이 들어설 자리가 없다면 ‘가시떨기’과 같은 마음입니다. 말씀을 들을 때 몸과 마음을 집중하고, 말씀을 가까이하려 하고, 어떤 상황에서도 말씀대로 살려고 노력한다면 ‘좋은 땅’이라고 할 수 있습니다. 말씀을 듣고 결실하는 좋은 땅은 단번에 만들어지지 않습니다. 겸손한 마음으로 늘 기도하며 순종하기를 힘쓸 때 좋은 마음(땅)으로 변화해 갑니다. 말씀 앞에서 우리 모두 ‘좋은 땅’이 되도록 서로 격려하는 시간이 되길 바랍니다.
First, explain that the seed represents the Word, and the soil represents the heart.
If someone has no interest in God’s Word and quickly forgets it or remains indifferent even after hearing it, that heart can be described as the path.
If a person is open to the Word at first but easily loses faith and distrusts God when difficulties arise, that heart is like rocky ground.
If someone hears the Word but is constantly filled with worries and desires so that there is no room for the Word to take root, that heart is like thorny ground.
If a person listens to the Word with both mind and body fully engaged, seeks to stay close to the Word, and strives to live according to it in every situation, that heart can be called good soil.
Good soil that hears the Word and bears fruit is not formed overnight. As we humbly pray and continually strive to obey, our hearts are gradually transformed into good soil. May this be a time when we encourage one another to become good soil before God’s Word.

하나님 말씀은 우리 삶을 지혜롭게 이끌 뿐 아니라, 우리를 영원한 천국으로 이끄는 생명의 말씀입니다. 자녀들이 평소 하나님 말씀을 듣는 자신의 태도(예배 자세, 기도하는 마음, 순종하는 행동 등)를 구체적으로 생각해 보도록 이끌어 주세요. 그리고 어떤 부분이 변화되면 좋을지 나누어 보세요. 하나님 말씀을 귀 기울여 듣고 좋은 마음으로 받는 것이 왜 중요한지 아이들이 스스로 느낄 수 있도록 도와주세요. 하나님 말씀을 단지 지식으로만 받아들이면 안 되고, 삶을 변화시키는 하나님의 씨앗으로 여겨야 합니다.
God’s Word not only guides our lives with wisdom but also leads us to eternal life in heaven. Help children reflect on their usual attitude toward God’s Word—such as their posture during worship, their attitude in prayer, and their obedience in daily life. Ask them what areas could change for the better. Guide them to understand why listening carefully to God’s Word and receiving it with a good heart is so important. God’s Word should not be treated as mere knowledge, but as a living seed that transforms our lives.
6. 감사하기 (Gratitude)
하나님께 감사드리고 싶은 일을 세 가지 정도 기록하게 한 후에 함께 나눕니다. 일상에서 경험한 크고 작은 감사나 예배 중에 생각난 감사를 나누어도 되고, 평범한 일상을 누리게 하시는 은혜에 대한 감사를 나누어도 됩니다. 감사를 나눔으로 하나님의 은혜를 기억하고 하나님 중심의 삶을 훈련하게 됩니다.
Have each person write down about three things they want to thank God for, and then share them together. These can be big or small moments of gratitude from daily life, things remembered during worship, or thankfulness for the grace of enjoying ordinary days. Sharing gratitude helps us remember God’s grace and trains us to live a God-centered life.
7. 기도 (Prayer)
하나님, 말씀을 듣는 저희의 마음을 돌아보게 해 주셔서 감사합니다. 돌밭 같고, 가시덤불 같은 저희 마음이 좋은 마음 밭으로 변화되게 해 주세요. 마음에 심긴 말씀이 자라서 주님이 기뻐하시는 열매를 맺게 해 주세요.
God, thank You for helping us reflect on our hearts as we listen to Your Word. Please transform our hearts—whether rocky or filled with thorns—into good soil. May the Word planted in our hearts grow and bear fruit that pleases You.

Preparations: memo paper or Post-it notes, a refrigerator or family bulletin board, a Bible or worship bulletin, fruit stickers or small gifts
1. Each person chooses one verse from this week’s QT (devotional) passage or sermon message.
2. Write the chosen verse on a memo, along with your name and the phrase, “I will take good care of this seed!” Then place the memo on the refrigerator or the family bulletin board.
3. Share one small, practical action each person will take to keep a good heart (e.g., remembering the verse when feeling angry, helping a friend, speaking kind words).
4. Throughout the week, remember the verse and put it into practice.
5. At the next family worship time, share how you cared for the seed of the Word during the week and encourage one another. You may give fruit stickers or a small gift to family members who practiced well.
