51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

4. 본문 이해 (Understanding the Scripture)
고린도 성도들 중에 ‘죽은 자의 부활이 없다’고 주장하는 이들이 있었어요. 그러나 마지막 나팔이 울리는 그때, 죽은 자들이 죽지 않을 몸으로 살아나고 우리 몸도 새롭게 변화될 거예요. 예수님이 사망 권세를 이기시고 부활하셨기 때문이에요. 예수님의 부활은 우리의 부활을 미리 보여 준 일이에요.
Among the Corinthian believers, there were those who argued that “there is no resurrection of the dead.” However, when the last trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised with immortal bodies, and our bodies will also be newly changed. This is because Jesus overcame the power of death and resurrected. Jesus’ resurrection is a preview of our resurrection.
■ 인도자를 위한 본문 이해 (Understanding Scripture for the Leader)
15장은 ‘부활장’으로 불립니다. 바울은 확신에 찬 논조로 부활에 관해 설명합니다. 당시 고린도 성도 중 일부는 죽은 자의 부활을 믿을 수 없다고 주장했습니다. 바울은 죽은 자의 부활이 없으면 예수 그리스도의 부활도 없고, 성도들의 부활도 없다고 말합니다. 부활은 죽음을 이기신 예수 그리스도의 승리를 보여 줍니다. 예수 그리스도가 부활한 일은 베드로와 다른 제자들 그리고 오백여 형제가 직접 목격한 역사적 사건입니다. 바울 자신도 부활하신 예수님을 만났다고 증언합니다(15:4~8). 부활이 없다면 우리의 믿음 생활은 모두 헛됩니다(15:17~19). 예수님이 잠자는 자(죽은 자)들의 첫 열매가 되셨기에 믿는 우리도 부활할 것입니다(15:20). 바울은 이어서 부활할 몸에 대해 설명합니다. 부활 때는 이전에 있던 몸과는 다른 몸으로 변화할 것이며 썩지 않을 몸이 될 것입니다. 이는 예수님의 승리를 믿는 모든 성도가 누릴 선물입니다. 그러므로 예수 그리스도의 생명으로 옮겨진 우리는 죽음을 두려워할 필요가 없습니다. 부활을 확신하는 성도는 소망 가운데 살아갑니다.
Chapter 15 is called the ‘Resurrection Chapter’. Paul explains the resurrection with a tone full of conviction. At that time, some of the Corinthian saints argued that they could not believe in the resurrection of the dead. Paul says that if there is no resurrection of the dead, then there is no resurrection of Jesus Christ, and no resurrection of the saints. Resurrection shows the victory of Jesus Christ, who overcame death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a historical event directly witnessed by Peter, other disciples, and more than five hundred brothers. Paul himself also testifies that he met the resurrected Jesus (15:4-8). If there is no resurrection, all our life of faith is in vain (15:17-19). Because Jesus became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep (the dead), we who believe will also resurrect (15:20). Paul then explains the resurrected body. At the resurrection, we will be changed into a body different from the one we had before, and it will be an imperishable body. This is a gift that all saints who believe in Jesus’ victory will enjoy. Therefore, we who have been transferred to the life of Jesus Christ do not need to fear death. Saints who are confident in the resurrection live in hope.
“장사 지낸 바 되셨다가 성경대로 사흘 만에 다시 살아나사 게바에게 보이시고 후에 열두 제자에게와 그 후에 오백여 형제에게 일시에 보이셨나니 그중에 지금까지 대다수는 살아 있고 어떤 사람은 잠들었으며 그 후에 야고보에게 보이셨으며 그 후에 모든 사도에게와 맨 나중에 만삭되지 못하여 난 자 같은 내게도 보이셨느니라”(고전 15:4~8).

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.” (1 Corinthians 15:4-8)
“그리스도께서 다시 살아나신 일이 없으면 너희의 믿음도 헛되고 너희가 여전히 죄 가운데 있을 것이요 또한 그리스도 안에서 잠자는 자도 망하였으리니 만일 그리스도 안에서 우리가 바라는 것이 다만 이 세상의 삶뿐이면 모든 사람 가운데 우리가 더욱 불쌍한 자이리라”(고전 15:17~19).
“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:17-19)
“그러나 이제 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아나사 잠자는 자들의 첫 열매가 되셨도다”(고전 15:20).

Paul explains what kind of changes will occur on the day of resurrection. Flesh and blood, the perishable, and the mortal body mean the body we currently have. And the imperishable body and immortal body point to the body belonging to the kingdom of God. Find out together in the word how it will change when the trumpet sounds (following God’s command). Resurrection means victory over death. Let them know that this victory has already been given to us through Jesus Christ.

바울은 고린도 성도들에게 부활에 대해 구체적으로 설명해 줍니다. 부활은 복음의 핵심이기 때문입니다. 만약 죽은 자의 부활을 믿지 못한다면 예수 그리스도의 부활도 부정하는 것이며, 죄 가운데 죽을 수밖에 없는 죄인의 구원도 설명할 수 없습니다. 그렇기에 바울은 부활의 확실성과 역사성 그리고 부활의 방법에 대해 자세히 말해 줍니다. 부활의 몸은 현재 우리 몸과 전혀 다를 것입니다. 이 땅의 썩어질 것과는 차원이 다른 새로운 몸으로 변화하는 것이며, 그 길을 열어 놓으신 분이 예수님입니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 살아가는 성도들에게는 죽음 이후 부활의 영광이 있습니다. 이 땅에서의 삶과 죽음이 전부가 아니라 그것을 뛰어넘는 영원한 생명이 있습니다.
Paul specifically explains the resurrection to the Corinthian saints. This is because resurrection is the core of the gospel. If one cannot believe in the resurrection of the dead, they are also denying the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the salvation of sinners who are bound to die in sin cannot be explained. Therefore, Paul speaks in detail about the certainty and historicity of the resurrection and the method of resurrection. The resurrected body will be completely different from our current body. It is changing into a new body on a different level from the perishable things of this earth, and the one who opened that path is Jesus. For saints living in Jesus Christ, there is the glory of resurrection after death. Life and death on this earth are not everything, but there is eternal life that transcends them.

우리 눈에 보이는 세계가 전부가 아님을 알려 주십시오. 현재의 삶은 짧고 유한하다는 것을 깨우쳐 주십시오. 하나님은 우리와 영원히 함께하시고자 우리를 지으셨고, 죽음 뒤에는 영원한 세계가 있습니다. 부활은 우리에게 다가올 실재이기에, 이 세상에서 부활 소망을 품고 사는 것이 필요합니다. 부활을 믿지 않는 사람은 죽음이 두렵고 절망스럽습니다. 반면 부활을 믿는 사람에게 죽음은 영원한 천국으로 이어지는 시작입니다. 부활을 믿지 않는 사람은 고난을 무의미하거나 부당한 일로 여기기 쉽습니다. 반면 부활을 믿는 사람에게 고난은 하나님의 사람으로 빚어지는 연단의 과정입니다. 각자 두렵고 힘든 일을 하나씩 나누고 부활 소망의 관점에서 그것이 어떤 의미를 지니는지 나누어 보십시오. 부활의 주님이 우리와 함께하신다는 것을 기억하고, 부활의 소망으로 채워 가는 삶을 살도록 서로 격려하고 축복하십시오.
Let them know that the world we see with our eyes is not everything. Make them realize that current life is short and finite. God created us to be with us forever, and there is an eternal world after death. Since resurrection is a reality approaching us, it is necessary to live with the hope of resurrection in this world. A person who does not believe in resurrection finds death fearful and despairing. On the other hand, for a person who believes in resurrection, death is a beginning leading to eternal heaven. A person who does not believe in resurrection is likely to consider hardship as meaningless or unfair. On the other hand, for a person who believes in resurrection, hardship is a refining process of being shaped into a person of God. Each person shares one fearful and difficult thing and discusses what meaning it has from the perspective of the hope of resurrection. Remember that the resurrected Lord is with us, and encourage and bless each other to live a life filled with the hope of resurrection.
6. 감사하기 (Gratitude)
하나님께 감사드리고 싶은 일을 세 가지 정도 기록하게 한 후에 함께 나눕니다. 일상에서 경험한 크고 작은 감사나 예배 중에 생각난 감사를 나누어도 되고, 평범한 일상을 누리게 하시는 은혜에 대한 감사를 나누어도 됩니다. 감사를 나눔으로 하나님 은혜를 기억하고 하나님 중심의 삶을 훈련하게 됩니다.
Write down about three things you want to thank God for and share them together. You can share big and small thanks experienced in daily life, thanks that came to mind during worship, or thanks for the grace of enjoying an ordinary daily life. By sharing gratitude, we remember God’s grace and practice living a God-centered life.
7. 기도 (Prayer)
하나님, 이 땅에서의 삶에 초점 맞추지 않고 부활과 하나님 나라를 소망하게 하시니 감사합니다. 이제는 슬픈 일을 만나도, 두려운 일을 만나도 흔들리지 않게 해 주세요. 산 소망이 되시는 예수님만 바라보며 힘차게 살게 해 주세요.
God, thank You for helping us not to focus on life on this earth but to hope for resurrection and the kingdom of God. Now, even if we encounter sad things or fearful things, please keep us from being shaken. Please let us live vigorously, looking only to Jesus who is our living hope.

2. 씨앗이 식물로 자라는 과정을 함께 이야기합니다.
3. 각각의 씨앗과 다 성장한 식물 혹은 열매의 모습을 비교해 봅니다.
생명을 품은 씨앗이 다른 모습으로 변화하듯이, 우리의 몸도 완전히 다른 몸으로 변화되어 부활하게 될 것을 생각해 보는 시간이 되기를 바랍니다.

1. Observe the prepared seeds and talk together about what kind of plant it will be or what kind of fruit it will bear.
