우리의 마음과 생각 그리고 행동이 깨끗해지려면, 하나님 말씀을 지켜야 해요. 소중한 보물을 간직하듯 하나님 말씀을 마음 깊이 새기고 품으면, 나쁜 마음과 생각은 우리에게서 멀어져요. 우리가 날마다 말씀을 읽고 묵상하며 마음에 새기고자 힘쓴다면, 하나님이 기뻐하시는 멋진 사람이 될 거예요.
In order for our hearts, thoughts, and actions to be pure, we must observe God’s word. If we deeply engrave and cherish God’s word in our hearts like a precious treasure, bad hearts and thoughts will move away from us. If we strive to read, meditate, and engrave the word in our hearts every day, we will become wonderful people whom God is pleased with.
■ 인도자를 위한 본문 이해 (Understanding Scripture for the Leader)
119편은 성경에서 가장 긴 장으로, 하나님의 말씀이 얼마나 위대하고 능력 있는지를 히브리어 알파벳 순서에 따라 아름답게 노래한 시입니다. 특히 9~11절은 악하고 부패한 세상에서 성도가 어떻게 영적 순결을 지킬 수 있는지 분명하게 보여 줍니다. 사람의 굳은 결심이나 도덕적 수양만으로는 죄의 유혹을 이길 수 없습니다. 시편 기자는 죄를 짓지 않기 위해 소중한 보물을 간직하듯이 하나님의 말씀을 자기 마음에 두었다고 고백합니다. 이는 말씀을 지속적으로 읽고 묵상하며 삶 속에 깊이 새겼다는 뜻입니다. 예수님도 마귀에게 유혹받으실 때 마음에 간직한 말씀으로 물리치셨습니다. 그러므로 부모는 자녀들이 세상의 가치관이 아니라 하나님 말씀을 삶의 기준으로 삼고, 날마다 말씀을 읽고 묵상하며 마음에 새기는 거룩한 습관을 갖도록 도와주어야 합니다.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, and it is a poem that beautifully sings of how great and powerful God’s word is, following the order of the Hebrew alphabet. In particular, verses 9-11 clearly show how saints can maintain spiritual purity in a wicked and corrupt world. Human firm resolution or moral cultivation alone cannot overcome the temptation of sin. The psalmist confesses that he has stored up God’s word in his heart like keeping a precious treasure so that he might not sin. This means that he continuously read, meditated on, and deeply engraved the word in his life. Jesus also defeated the devil with the word stored in His heart when He was tempted. Therefore, parents must help their children set God’s word, not the values of the world, as the standard of their lives, and develop a holy habit of reading, meditating, and engraving the word in their hearts every day.

하나님 말씀은 우리로 하여금 죄를 깨닫게 하는 중요한 역할을 합니다. 바울은 하나님이 주신 율법을 통해 죄가 무엇인지 알게 되었다고 말합니다(롬 7:7). 인류의 죄는 하나님을 떠나는 데서 시작되었습니다. 죄와 가까워질수록 하나님과는 멀어지고, 하나님과 가까워질수록 죄와는 멀어지게 됩니다. 그러므로 죄와 멀어지고 깨끗한 삶을 살길 원한다면 늘 하나님과 그분의 말씀 가까이 머물러야 합니다. 사람의 영혼은 하나님의 등불과 같아서(잠 20:27), 하나님은 우리 내면의 깊은 곳까지 살피시고 아십니다. 사람은 속일 수 있어도 하나님은 결코 속일 수 없습니다. 유혹이 많은 세상을 살아가는 우리에게 성결한 삶이란 단지 나쁜 일을 하지 않는 데 그치지 않고, 하나님 말씀으로 마음을 채우며 살아가는 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 우리 삶을 지키는 가장 안전한 울타리이며, 바른길로 인도하는 나침반입니다. 11절의 ‘마음에 두었다’라는 표현은 소중한 보물을 금고에 간직하듯 말씀을 귀하게 여기고 깊이 품는 것을 뜻합니다. 그러므로 죄의 유혹을 이기고자 한다면 반드시 하나님의 말씀을 가까이하고 굳게 붙들어야 합니다.
God’s word plays an important role in making us realize our sin. Paul says that he came to know what sin is through the law given by God (Romans 7:7). Humanity’s sin began with turning away from God. The closer we get to sin, the farther we move away from God, and the closer we get to God, the farther we move away from sin. Therefore, if you want to distance yourself from sin and live a pure life, you must always stay close to God and His word. The human spirit is like the lamp of the LORD (Proverbs 20:27), so God searches and knows even the deepest parts of our inner selves. People can be deceived, but God can never be deceived. For us living in a world full of temptation, a holy life does not stop at merely not doing bad things, but living with our hearts filled with God’s word. God’s word is the safest fence that protects our lives and a compass that guides us on the right path. The expression ‘stored up in my heart’ in verse 11 means valuing and deeply cherishing the word like keeping a precious treasure in a safe. Therefore, if we want to overcome the temptation of sin, we must by all means keep God’s word close and hold onto it firmly.

In order to overcome sin, we must be able to recall God’s word whenever necessary. And in order to recall God’s word, that word must be deeply planted in our hearts. Therefore, we must cultivate a spiritual habit of drawing near to God’s word every day. Think together about what methods exist to keep the word in your heart. Share methods that each person will practice, such as QT (Quiet Time), reading through the Bible, or memorizing scripture. When parents first set the word as the standard of their lives and set an example, children will not stop at knowing the word as knowledge but will experience it as a living power that overcomes sin. When we read and meditate on God’s word every day and obey its teachings, we will live a holy and pure life that pleases God.
6. 감사하기 (Gratitude)
하나님께 감사드리고 싶은 일을 세 가지 정도 기록하게 한 후에 함께 나눕니다. 일상에서 경험한 크고 작은 감사나 예배 중에 생각난 감사를 나누어도 되고, 평범한 일상을 누리게 하시는 은혜에 대한 감사를 나누어도 됩니다. 감사를 나눔으로 하나님 은혜를 기억하고 하나님 중심의 삶을 훈련하게 됩니다.
Write down about three things you want to thank God for and share them together. You can share big and small thanks experienced in daily life, thanks that came to mind during worship, or thanks for the grace of enjoying an ordinary daily life. By sharing gratitude, we remember God’s grace and practice living a God-centered life.
7. 기도 (Prayer)
하나님, ‘깨끗한 삶’과 ‘말씀을 지키는 삶’이 연결되어 있음을 깨우쳐 주시니 감사합니다. 하나님 말씀을 그 무엇보다 소중하게 여기고, 말씀 묵상을 우선순위에 두게 해 주세요. 그래서 날마다 죄의 유혹을 이기게 해 주세요.
God, thank You for enlightening us that a ‘pure life’ and a ‘life of keeping the word’ are connected. Please help us value God’s word above all else and prioritize meditating on the word. So that we may overcome the temptation of sin every day.

8. 가족 미션 (Family Mission)

* 준비물: 작은 상자(또는 예쁜 종이봉투), 종이 메모지(포스트잇), 필기구, 간식(보상용)
1. 말씀 기록하기: 오늘 말씀 중에 기억에 남는 단어나 구절, 그리고 먹고 싶은 간식을 메모지에 적습니다. 어린 자녀는 부모님이 대신 기록하거나 말씀 스티커를 활용해도 좋습니다.
2. 마음 상자에 말씀 넣기: 메모지를 작은 상자(혹은 봉투)에 담으며 “하나님 말씀을 내 마음에 담아요!”라고 말합니다.
3. 말씀 암송 챌린지: 시편 119편 11절 말씀으로 가족이 함께 몸동작을 만들고 암송합니다.

1. Record the Word: Write down memorable words or phrases from today’s word, as well as a snack you want to eat, on the memo pad. For young children, parents may write it for them or use scripture stickers.
2. Put the Word in the Heart Box: Place the memo pad in the small box (or bag) and say, “I put God’s word in my heart!”
3. Word Memorization Challenge: Create body movements and recite Psalm 119:11 together as a family.
4. Recite Once a Day: Keep the word placed in the heart box in a visible place, and recite Psalm 119:11 once a day.
5. Sharing Snacks: When gathering for the next worship, prepare the snacks written on the memo pad and share them together.
